Paper copies of the first 2010 issue of Legal Information Alert were mailed out at the beginning of May. Subscribers should have received their copy by now.
In the issue you will find another thought provoking article by Richard Leiter, entitled, The 21st Century Law Library Conundrum: Free Law and Paying to Understand It. Read his discussion about the emerging dichotomy in legal publishing: more and more free resources are becoming available which will require users to depend more and more on the secondary sources to explain the law. Those required secondary sources will be what researchers will have to pay for at increasing prices.
